This exhibition draws from the bequest of Maria and Johannes Krüppel-Stärk. The couple donated their private collection of 57 paintings, 89 Drawings, and 1358 prints of Dutch and German artists to the St. Gallen Kunstmuseum. The collection and exhibition includes paintings by artists such as Cuyp, Kessel, and Ruysch.

The exhibition is curated by Matthias Wohlgemuth und Samuel Reller.
