BRON Research Centre Fellowship
Musea Brugge
BRON is the new research center of Musea Brugge (which includes Groeningemuseum, Museum Sint-Janshospitaal and Gruuthusemuseum in Bruges, Belgium). Please see: https://www.museabrugge.be/collecties/bron. Inaugurated in November 2025, it promotes and facilitates the study of the collections of the Bruges Museums. Research projects that relate to the core strengths of the museums and focus on works of art from the collections (paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and decorative arts) are welcomed, in particular early Netherlandish painting and the “long nineteenth century”.
Students whose dissertations will particularly benefit from collection, library and archival holdings in Bruges and Belgium are strongly encouraged to apply. Fellowships started in September 2025 are ongoing yearly.
The fellowship is made possible by the Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF).
