Call for Contributions: Brill’s Studies on Art, Art History, and Intellectual History

From Series editor, Walter S. Melion

In my capacity as series editor, I wanted to invite you to submit material on topics in northern art, either book proposals or finished manuscripts, monographs or edited volumes.  Our production values are very high, as witness the recent books by Jeffrey Muller on the church of Saint Jacob, Antwerp, by Ed Wouk on Frans Floris, and by Art di Furia on Heemskerck’s Roman pictures.  We use a single blind review process, sending the manuscript out to two or, in some cases, three readers.  There is no limit on the number of illustrations, in black & white or in color.  In cases where an accompanying catalogue is crucial, this can be published either in hard copy or as an online supplement.

We welcome inter- and multi-disciplinary projects, of course, but innovative work situated squarely within an art historical subfield is also welcome.

And we are open to publishing on topics that range from Medieval to Contemporary.

Please contact walter.melion@emory.edu and dijk@brill.com.
