Exchanging Gazes. Between China and Europe 1669-1907

This exhibition surveys the cultural exchange between Europe and China during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) through an array of media including: engraving, painting, porcelain, woodwork, and photography. The exhibition is in collaboration with the Max Planck Research Group ‘Objects in the Contact Zone: The Cross-Cultural Lives of Things’ at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence – Max Planck Institute.
