How to post pictures, videos, tweets and links
Pictures
Pictures must be hosted on the internet. You cannot upload directly to this message board from your computer. This is largely a programming security issue, so we apologize for any inconvenience. If you have a picture on your own computer that you wish to post, you may upload it to one of many free image-hosting sites, such as Imgur.com, imgbox.com, tinypic.com or the like. Some may require registration. Try to use sites that do not expire, since we want our conversations here to have a degree of permanence. The same is true for museum and other sites whose URLs often change. Please find a permanent url when possible.
Once you have found an image that you want to place in your post, you can click the img button and enter the url.
Videos
To post a video on the site, again it must be hosted on the internet. Use the embed code provided by the website. For YouTube, for example, the embed code can be found when you click on the “share” button below the video. Simply copy and paste the embed code into the body of your message.
Twitter
To show a tweet in your message, click on the down-carret (“v”) in the upper-right corner of the tweet. That will lead you to the embed code for that tweet. Simply copy and paste the embed code in the body of your message.
Links
When posting a link, you can't just cut and paste the URL into your post. You have to highlight the text and then click the "link" button and paste the URL there. Without doing this, the URL will not be an actual hyperlink, and it sometimes does funny things with the spacing.
You may practice on this thread if you like.
