I own an original set of antique and modern palaces of Genova, plus a number of additional plates
It is bound into a book with kid skin cover
It was a gift to me by a French gentleman who s grandfather was an antique dealer in Paris early in the 20th century
My friend give it to me because, as the architect for his South Carolina home, and friend he thought I should have it.
I ve owned it for some 20 years now.
I would greatly appreciate knowing more on this wonderful collection of plates.
How many original copies are know to exist?
They are housed in a custom made clam shell I had more for it.
Thanks in advance for any insight on this wonderful book.
Sincerely
Michel “ Mitch” Laplante
Mr. Laplante, thank you for posting about your copy of Rubens’ Palazzi di Genova. Perhaps you’ve already done some preliminary research, but here’s a link to a Wikipedia page about it:

There was also a scholarly book by Piet Lombaerde about its reception throughout Europe that may interest you. It was published in 2002, so may be difficult to find now in bound form, but it can be purchased as an electronic book directly from the publisher Brepols.
