HNA 2027 will be co-hosted by Boston University and the Center for Netherlandish Art,
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This is the first HNA conference in North America since 2014
and the third conference held in Boston/Cambridge, an established and growing hub for the study
of Netherlandish art.
In this document (click here) you will find a complete list of Calls for Papers for Conference Panels. The
proposed panels demonstrate the diversity and range of artists, media, topics, and themes
represented by HNA members. Many of the panels respond to one of our three thematic focuses:
Theme 1: Contesting the Real in Netherlandish Art
Theme 2: Labor and Class in Netherlandish Art History
Theme 3: Netherlandish Art History, Objects, and Museums
Additional panels engage with a broad array of important themes and critical issues in our field,
including Women’s, Gender, and Queer Studies; Concepts of the Body; Global Contexts; and
Environmental Studies. Please follow any individual submission guidelines included by the panel
chairs.
