Dear Members of HNA,
HNA has not raised its membership dues for more than two decades. In recent years HNA has greatly expanded its services to its members and to the world of scholarship. Maintenance and further growth require additional financial resources. The Board of HNA has approved the following changes to membership rates. We leave it to each member to determine the most appropriate category for their status:
Individual Membership $100
Student Membership $25 (unchanged)
Independent Scholar $50 (new category at former regular rate)
Retiree Membership $50 (new category at former regular rate)

Benefactor
Institutional Membership $250
Lifetime Membership $2500
HNA currently provides the following benefits to our membership:
- Publish the scholarly journal JHNA twice annually
- Publish book and exhibition reviews on HNAR
- Publish an annual bibliography covering Netherlandish and German art
- Sponsor a triennial scholarly conference in the US or Europe (next: Boston 2027)
- Sponsor HNA sessions annually at CAA, RSA, SCSC, and other conferences sponsored by sister organizations
- Sponsor an annual meeting for members
- Sponsor an annual reception for members at CAA or RSA
- Support the work of emerging and established scholars with awards and grants
- Administer grants from external funding agencies in support of emerging scholars
- Operate the HNA website and digital message board
Your increased dues payment will help HNA to:
- Maintain ALL the services listed above.
- Increase the amount of funding allocated to HNA Fellowships
- Increase support to enable members to attend HNA conferences
- Increase support for IDEA initiatives and help maintain new IDEA-related resources online
- Support other new avenues of research to keep the study of Netherlandish Art healthy in the decades to come
- Provide continuing access to our series of topical HNA podcasts
- Support our mentorship program for graduate students and emerging scholars
