Historians of Netherlandish Art seeks nominations and self-nominations for the positions of Treasurer and Secretary. These two positions serve as officers of the organization, appointed for four-year terms, renewable. They act as advisors to the President and Vice-President, along with the Past-President. These are non-paid positions.

To make a nomination or self-nomination, please submit a current CV and brief statement of interest to administrator@HNAnews.org. Questions should also be directed to this email address. Nominations are open until March 28, 2025. Duties will commence as soon as feasible for the chosen candidates.
The HNA Treasurer
Description
- The Treasurer is a non-voting officer of Historians of Netherlandish Art.
- The Treasurer is appointed by HNA’s Board of Directors for a term of four years. The Treasurer is subject to reappointment by the Board.
- The Treasurer is an unpaid position.
Duties
- To advise the President and Vice-President as part of the Executive Committee.
- To disburse funds to HNA’s vendors, honorees, and awardees as designated by the President and the Board (currently 30-50 mostly automated disbursements annually).
- To deposit all moneys rendered to the corporation in the name of HNA in banks and financial institutions designated by the Board (currently Bank of America and Sycamore Financial Planning; almost all membership dues and other receipts are deposited automatically).
- To keep full and accurate records of HNA’s receipts and disbursements.
- To present financial information at the Annual Meeting of the Members and the Annual Board Meeting.
- To render HNA’s financial statements and other information annually to HNA’s tax accountant and to the Board when requested.
- To perform other duties as shall from time to time be assigned by the Board or the President, such as serving on the Finance Committee and attending meetings pertaining to the planning of the HNA conference, as needed.
The HNA Secretary
Description
- The Secretary is a non-voting officer of Historians of Netherlandish Art, Inc. (“HNA,” “the Corporation”) tasked with the duties set forth below.
- The Secretary is appointed by HNA’s Board of Directors for a term of four years. The Secretary is subject to reappointment by the Board.
- The Secretary is an unpaid position.
Duties
- To advise the President and Vice-President as part of the Executive Committee.
- Supervise and assist the administrators as needed in the completion of the duties listed below.
- Keep the minutes of each Members’ Meeting and all meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee.
- Serve all notices of the Corporation, including with respect to Meetings and meetings of the Board, and for counting votes at each Meeting.
- Establish procedures to archive HNA official materials in accordance with the bylaws and oversee the archive.
- Facilitate the communication of news and information among the membership.
- Receive the annual disclosure statements required by the Corporation’s Conflicts of Interest Policy.
- Keep a current list of the Members of the Corporation.
- Render notice of dues to the Members and coordinate Members’ dues payments with the Treasurer.
- Perform such other duties as shall from time to time be assigned by the Board or the President.
- Knowledge of Word Press website administration, or willingness to learn, is a necessary component of the position.
