Director of the Picture Gallery of the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna

The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna is looking for a new director of the Picture Gallery. The position is vacant since former director Dr. Stefan Weppelman was appointed director of the Museum der bildenden Künste in Leipzig at the beginning of this year.

As director of the Picture Gallery you will oversee one of the most renowned collections of Old Master paintings in Europe. The job description is available on the website of the Kunsthistorisches Museum (in German), open until filled.

 

Kunsthistorisches Museum Seeks Curator for the Collection of Arms and Armor

The Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna has a vacancy for a curator in the collection of Arms and Armor. This renowned collection includes a number of important objects from the Low Countries. In 2017, Stefan Krause, the collection’s current director wrote Fashion in Steel and Silk for the CODART eZine in which he discusses several of the Northern objects in this collection.
