Dear HNA Members,
As we enter the new year, we want to remind you that our regular individual membership dues will increase beginning in the new year 2025, and we want to give you the opportunity to review your membership tier through the website before your next annual renewal, when your status will automatically be shifted to the new rate. Please update your membership level, accordingly, if you desire to make a change. We leave it to each member to determine the most appropriate category for their status. You can find your membership renewal date on your account under My Subscription as your “Next Payment Date.”
Note that Student Membership remains unchanged, and we have created two new categories for Independent Scholars and Retirees that fall at the former regular rate ($50). If you were at the ‘Supporting’ membership level, you automatically will be converted to the ‘Individual’ level ($100) unless you change your status within the system.
For those of you who find yourself in the appropriate member tier already, you do not need to do anything, as your status will automatically be shifted to the new rate the next time you are up for renewal. For those of you who do wish to change your member tier—for example, if you are no longer a graduate student, if you are newly retired, or if you plan to join the new tier level of Independent Scholar—then you may do so easily through the website (see instructions below). If you desire to make a change to your membership level, please make that change before your annual renewal. You do not need to worry about being double charged, even if you shift your member tier well in advance; it simply means that you will be in the system ready to go and will be charged at that new tier rate when you come up for renewal.
If you want to change your member level:
- Login to the website here: https://hnanews.org/login/
- After logging in go to your dashboard here: https://hnanews.org/my-account/
- Click on “My Subscription”
- Scroll down the page and click on the button entitled “Change Membership Level”
- Select your new membership level and click “Switch Subscription”
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the HNA Administrator at administrator@hnanews.org.
HNA has not raised its membership dues for more than two decades. In recent years, as many of you know, we have greatly expanded services to our members and to the world of scholarship. Maintenance and further growth require additional financial resources. The Board of HNA has approved the following changes to membership rates:
- Individual $100
- Student $25 (unchanged)
- Retiree $50 (new category at former regular rate)
- Independent Scholar $50 (new category at former regular rate)
- Patron $250
- Benefactor $500
- Institutional $250
Thank you for participating in the HNA community! We have some events and sponsored sessions to look forward to in the forthcoming months at the annual CAA conference (Feb. 12-15 in NYC) and the RSA conference (March 20-22 in Boston), as well as our annual member meeting on Zoom, which we will announce in the coming weeks.
