The Courtauld wishes to make an open appointment of a Lecturer in Art History to begin on 1 September 2020 for a fixed-term period of 12 months while Professor Joanna Woodall takes up a Research Fellowship funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The successful candidate will be in a position to teach the MA Special Option ‘Bodies of Knowledge in the Early Modern Netherlands 1540-1660’ although there is scope to expand the geographical range to incorporate Northern Europe more broadly. The candidate will also deliver a series of lectures and seminar courses for graduate and undergraduate students. The candidate is expected to be able to situate their work in the theoretical and historiographical debates in their specialised research area and also engage with current issues within Art History.
The appointee will research and publish to the highest quality and will provide inspiring teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will also play an active role in the life and administration of The Courtauld.
