RKD Talk: Vermeer in New York

Interest in the Delft painter Johannes Vermeer has perhaps never been greater. The Vermeer exhibition at the Rijksmuseum, which runs from February 10 to June 4, is completely sold out. At an international level, there is a great deal of interest in the seventeenth-century master. In fact, a significant part of Vermeer’s oeuvre is located in the United States.

On Thursday 20 April, art historian Esmée Quodbach will give an RKD Talk about Vermeer’s paintings in New York. Tickets are now available in the RKD webshop.

Johannes Vermeer, The Soldier and the Laughing Maiden , ca. 1657, The Frick Collection, New York.
