The Ohio State University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Early Modern European Art for the 2020/2021 academic year. Candidates should have a research focus in European Art between ca. 1400 and 1600, and we particularly welcome applications from scholars who address European art within its global context in their research and/or teaching. The teaching responsibility for the position is 2 courses per semester in autumn and spring the successful candidate will teach an introductory Renaissance to Modern Western Art class, an introductory course in Italian Renaissance Art, and two further courses in their area of expertise.
The Ohio State University History of Art Department offers both the BA and PhD in art history, as well as an MA in Contemporary Art and Curatorial Practice. The Visiting Assistant Professor will be invited to play an active role in our graduate and undergraduate programs, and to participate in the intellectual life of the department.
